How to Use AquaPlan — Setup Guide & Garmin Export overview

Learn how to build swim workouts, create training plans, set up Garmin export, and use AquaPlan from your first session to a structured watch-ready workout.

How to use AquaPlan. Start by creating a free account so the workout builder, workout library, saved plans, and session history are available in one place. Open the free workout builder when you want to create a single pool session. Add warmup, drills, main set, cooldown, repeat groups, rest intervals, distances, and training zones so the workout looks like a real swim set instead of a generic fitness plan.

Browse the 130+ workout library when you want a faster starting point for endurance, technique, speed, triathlon, recovery, or beginner sessions. To use a Garmin watch, build or choose the workout, export the Garmin-compatible FIT file, import it through Garmin Connect or USB, then sync the watch before pool time. Compatible Garmin families include Forerunner, Fenix, Enduro, Venu, Swim, MARQ, and Epix models that support pool-swim workouts.

If a workout does not appear on the watch, confirm watch compatibility, verify that Garmin Connect imported the FIT file, sync again, or export a fresh file from AquaPlan.
